                                                                                                                                                                                                       Product description (FOS-TN):  Twisted-Nematic (TN) liquid crystal shutter (FOS-TN). Both normally white mode (open-state without applied voltage) and normally black mode of operation available (closed-state without applied voltage). Operation in IR wavelength region from 800-1500nm available upon request (FOS-TN-IR).

A hand-held, battery-driven electrical driver-box with manual ON/OFF switch is available for operation of FOS-TN liquid crystal shutter for testing & evaluation purposes. Please see Pricing & Ordering for ordering of product.

Product characteristics:  FOS-TN shutter offers medium switching speeds (activation switching speed < 2ms & relaxation switching speed < 15ms) together with high contrast (>1:80). Maximum transmittance when in open-state approximately 38% for incident unpolarised light due to presence of polarisation sheets. Custom sizes available from 5 x 5mm up to maximum 14 x 16 inches.
