Twisted-Nematic (TN) liquid crystal optical shutter (light valve) operating in the first maximum mode (FOS-TN). Both normally white (FOS-TN-W) mode (optical-shutter in light-state without voltage applied) and normally black (FOS-TN-B) mode of operation (optical-shutter in dark-state without voltage applied) available. Optical-shutters operating in the IR wavelength region available upon request (FOS-TN-IR).

Properties:

The FOS-TN optical-shutter technology offers medium switching speeds (activation switching speed < 2ms & relaxation switching speed < 15ms) together with high contrast (>1:80). Maximum transmittance when in light-state approximately 38% for incident unpolarised light due to presence of linear polarisers. Custom sizes available from 5 x 5mm up to maximum 14 x 16 inches.
